Ryan was born on 21st October 1991. After He was born, he had many visits back the hospital, and also to a specialist's children's hospital. He was born with 4 thumb's.

He had 4 operations and 2 skin graph's, and never once complained. Ryan was one of the most caring little boy's you could ever wish to meet. If he ever heard about a friend, neighbor OR family member that was not well, the first thing he would do, is go up to his room, and make his own get well soon card. Ryan always put everyone else before himself. Once Ryan got to the age of 5 he started training in Shotokan Karate in which he gained his Red belt. At the age of 7 he started playing rugby for a local team and never once won a match, BUT he was just glad that he was a member of a team with boys of a similar interest and enjoyed every match played.

Ryan was a pupil at Barrowhall Lane primary school and was well liked by other pupils and by the teachers. The school have since made a memorial garden in Ryan's memory and it has a nameplate in his remembrance. The Karate club and the rugby club have also contributed in Ryan's memory, by have trophy's made which are given out to individual's on a yearly basis.

When Ryan was in Hospital, many friends were wanting to send flower's. But, because flower's were only a temporary thing, Donations of money was sent instead and when word got out that a new life support machine was needed at the hospital, the donations grew and grew. the total money raised was over £1500 and this was handed in to the hospital that cared for Ryan in his final day's.
